Open water swimming and menopause symptoms

berkshire menopause-clinic

Lots about outdoor swimming and the benefits on menopause symptoms.

The BMJ have already published research showing that open water swimming is a recognised treatment for major depressive disorder. But more and more evidence is emerging for further benefits such as elevated proteins with protective effects against brain cell death (associated with memory loss and dementia), and improvement of blood pressure, circulation and lymphatics.– Why is this important in menopause?- Not only will open water have direct effect on regulating body temperatures and improving hot flushes, but it may have indirect impact on many of the symptoms associated with loss of oestrogen during menopause, include bone aches, brain fog, mood swings, blood pressure and cardiovascular risks.
