Our Pessaries Women’s Health Clinic Service FAQs

What is a pessary and when might I need one?

A pessary is a small device inserted into the vagina to support the bladder, uterus, or rectum in cases of prolapse. You may be experiencing a dragging sensation ir leakage of urine (urinary incontinence). We provide guidance on fitting, care, and ongoing review to ensure comfort and effectiveness.

How do I know which option is right for me?

To ensure you get the right care, its best to first book an Introductory consultation, where we can discuss your medical history, lifestyle, and personal preferences, and explore all available options — whether its incontinence or prolapse management — so you feel confident and informed about your choice. You can book an Introductory Consultation here.

Do I need follow-up appointments?

You do not necessarily need follow ups. Our specialist will explain when and how reviews are scheduled. We offer to share care with your GP and send a summary letter to them, should you wish to continue care on the NHS.
