Once you have booked a consultation, you will be sent a confirmation email containing information about your visit.
Prior to the consultation, we request that you fill the medical questionnaire and provide up-to-date readings for weight, height and blood pressure (needed for safe initiation of some HRT treatments). Most GP surgeries and pharmacies offer this service and ideally we would like this information prior to your appointments. However, should this not be possible we can do this at our clinic.
It would also be helpful to fill out our symptom questionnaire, which we use as an initial indicator of how severe you rate your symptoms, and later, to monitor treatment response.
Having all this information in advance means we can utilise the appointment better to address your specific needs.
See our FAQs for more information.
Your first (Introductory) consultation will be in person at our clinic in Henley-on Thames. We also offer the option for introductory video appointments, which can be done from the comfort of your own home.
At this appointment, there will be an opportunity to discuss a more detailed account of your symptoms and which aspects of your health and well-being you want to see improve.
We will discuss the risks and benefits of different options, ensuring you have all the information to make safe and informed choices. We will formulate a bespoke treatment plan tailored to your needs including issuing prescriptions.
Blood tests are rarely used for diagnosis. However, in some cases, they are useful for monitoring treatment response. We are able to carry out blood tests at the clinic, if needed.
It can be overwhelming to absorb multitudes of information in a single appointment. We will send you (and your GP with your consent) a summary of our consultation and treatment plan.
We have an FAQ page to answer some of your questions and a Resources page with fact sheets and links to useful websites.
You will be offered a video follow up review at 3 months, which can be done from the comfort of your home. We also offer the option for a longer follow-up appointment in person at our clinic in Henley-on Thames.
At this appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your individualised treatment plan journey and make any necessary adjustments to your medication.
If you have had any blood tests or other investigations, this will also be discussed.
With you consent, we can send summaries to your GP who may agree to continue your treatment on the NHS
Any further reviews will depend on your progress.
We would recommend at least an annual review to continue your treatment plan and review any ongoing prescriptions.
Once your treatment plan has been optimised, you may not wish to continue privately. With you consent, we can send summaries to your GP who may agree to continue your treatment on the NHS.
We understand there may be a lot of information to absorb and you may have questions after your appointments- For each consultation you book, you can send one follow-up email for free
There is a charge for any further emails or correspondence requests.
Please do not use our email contact for any medical emergencies. You must contact your usual emergency NHS provider for any urgent medical issues.
Existing patients:
If you have already had an initial consultation with our specialist AND have been provided with all the necessary information required prior to the fitting appointment (including discussing if the procedure is safe and suitable for you) then our specialist can simply arrange an appointment for you either at the the time of your consultation or please contact the clinic to arrange a suitable appointment time. Once your procedure-fitting appointment has been booked, we will send you some essential information to read prior to your appointment.
New patient:
If you are a new patient and have not yet had a consultation with our specialist, please contact the clinic to discuss arranging your appointments..
You will need an initial telephone consultation with our specialist, prior to the procedure fitting. This will enable her to take a thorough medical history to ensure the procedure is safe and right for you. She will also provide you all the necessary information required for the fitting appointment, including obtaining your consent. If you choose to proceed, our specialist can arrange the procedure-fitting appointment with you at the time of the telephone consultation.
We are able to carry out some hormone blood test profiles at the clinic. Please speak to our specialist to discuss available options and pricing details.
If we do not stock a test you have requested, one option is to use a private phlebotomy service such as Nationwide pathology or Medichecks (see below).
If using Medichecks, you can set up an account directly with them to order and pay for your tests.
Once the tests have been ordered, the forms and blood bottles will be sent to your home. To have your blood taken, you can either use a phlebotomist of your choice (if you know of one) OR you can visit a local Medichecks clinic OR you can request a home visit. Click here to find out more about their services.
It may sound complicated. Do not worry, our specialist will explain the details at your appointment.
